The smaller inner image is based on a photograph of Munch seated surrounded by his paintings.

Munch died in his house at Ekely near Oslo on 23 January 1944, just over a month after his 80th birthday. Series Title: Garden Intruder.

A series titled Garden Intruder

Once my wife and I watched a cat wonder in our backyard on the hunt. After a few minutes he pounced into a patch of ground cover and came out with what we think might have been a large chipmonk in his mouth. Garden Intruder as something- a grotesque- that apears and preys on the innocent, the unsuspecting and unprepared.

Dinner with Picass0

I picture Picasso as fascinated and drawn into the stories of the dark side of human nature. At about the same time as Picasso was having dinner with the chief of police of the city of light owls began to appear in his paintings. It was said that he took a deep interest in owls that would in the evening swoop down into allies grab cats in their claws and take off into the night.

Dinner With Picasso

A series that is from Picasso during the late 30's and 40's would sometimes invite the chief of police of Paris over for dinner and listen with great interest stories of crime and murder in the city of light.
