Once my wife and I watched a cat wonder in our backyard on the hunt. After a few minutes he pounced into a patch of ground cover and came out with what we think might have been a large chipmonk in his mouth. Garden Intruder as something- a grotesque- that apears and preys on the innocent, the unsuspecting and unprepared.

In the context of this series Dinner With Picasso I picture Picasso as fascinated and drawn into the stories of the dark side of human nature. At about the same time as Picasso was having dinner with the chief of police of the city of light owls began to appear in his paintings. It was said that he took a deep interest in owls that would in the evening swoop down into aliies grab cats in their claws and take off into the night.

A series that is from Picasso during the late 30's and 40's would sometimes invite the chief of police of Paris over for dinner and listen with great interest stories of crime and muder in the city of light.
