About Us

As to why I use the word Study in my titles. A really finished work is in a sense dead. I like the idea that there is more to the story than a moment embalmed in artwork. Artists investigate, and consider, in both preparations to work and in the work itself in a world where nothing exists frozen in time, in a world where all things are becoming. This perpetual movement both in the artist's thought process and in the subject of the artwork is at odds with the idea of a totally finished work. A serious artist is always aware, sometimes consciously sometimes subconsciously of capturing something that can never be totally pinned down. This process, or investigation, no matter what the subject matter is perpetual and fluid both in the internal world and externally in the world we see and live in, and the word Study describes this best.
