That idea or concept bears a remarkable resemblance to the concepts behind Lovecraft's work. Breton's Great Invisibles did not capture much attention, so the direction was not developed. H. P. Lovecraft and especially Clark Ashton Smith were talked about at length in the Surrealists Journal VVV published in 1942. Smith in the booklet First Papers of Surrealism, and later both Lovecraft and Smith in VVV in the article Such Pulps as Dreams are Made of. Smith lived in a primitive rural cabin with a low stone wall that he built surrounding it. Which is what I pictured in the drawing.
